Six things to check in a walkthrough
1. Can staff record work in the right place?
Ask someone to enter a normal day of work, then show how a manager reviews it. Check whether entries can be linked to a project task or customer activity, and whether billable and other time are clear. Petra’s timesheets page and project example show this flow.
Ask: What happens when an entry is corrected or rejected?
2. Can the team see who owns a task?
Walk through a job with a deadline, an owner, a file, and a late task. Look for a view that makes the next action clear to both the person doing the work and the manager. See Petra’s project tools.
Ask: Can a manager find delayed work without opening every task?
3. Does customer history follow the sale?
Save a lead, plan a follow-up, record a call, and then prepare an invoice. Check whether the team can see the customer history at each step. Petra’s CRM page and lead-to-invoice example cover that path.
Ask: What has to be entered again when a lead becomes a customer?
4. Can staff and managers follow the leave process?
Have a staff member request leave and a manager review it. Check how entitlements, stand-ins, approvals, and payroll inputs are handled for your policies. See Petra’s HR tools and HR example.
Ask: Which steps need your team to set its own rules?
5. What will the full setup cost?
Count the people who need a login and list the tools each group needs. Compare the monthly total, yearly terms, and any add-ons. Petra publishes plans and add-on prices; you can request a walkthrough for a specific mix.
Ask: What is included today, and what costs extra?
6. What will your team need to change?
Choose one real workflow and identify the staff details, customer records, project information, and approval rules needed to set it up. Ask to see that workflow before moving everything. Petra offers a guided 90-day pilot for eligible teams.
Ask: Who on your team will own setup and review the first results?
